Tune Talk x MyDigital ID Verification T&Cs

These Terms & Conditions (β€œTerms”) explain how MyDigital ID is used when you verify your identity or register your Tune Talk number. By choosing to verify your number or register a new line using MyDigital ID, you consent for your data to be verified by MyDigital ID and you agree to these Terms.

  1. Purpose of Verification
    1. MyDigital ID verification is used to confirm that:
      1. You are the rightful owner of your Tune Talk number; or
      2. You are the individual registering a new Tune Talk prepaid SIM.
    2. This helps protect you from fraud, identity misuse and SIM-related scams, and ensures Tune Talk complies with the Mandatory Standards for Identity Verification issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
  2. Eligibility
    1. MyDigital ID verification is only available to:
      1. Malaysian citizens, and
      2. Individuals with a valid MyKad registered under Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).
    2. You must have an active MyDigital ID account to complete verification.
  3. How Verification Works
    1. When you begin verification, you will be redirected to the official MyDigital ID There, MyDigital ID will:
      1. Validate your MyKad details
      2. Perform biometric facial recognition
      3. Confirm your identity against JPN records
    2. Once the process is completed, MyDigital ID will send Tune Talk a verification result (for example, success or failure). Tune Talk does not receive or store your biometric data.
  4. Information Shared With Tune Talk
    1. Through MyDigital ID, Tune Talk will only receive:
      1. Your verified name (as per MyKad)
      2. Confirmation that your identity has been successfully verified or not
      3. Confirmation that your number is linked to your verified identity
    2. Tune Talk will not receive:
      1. Your MyKad photos
      2. Your facial scan
      3. Any biometric identifiers
      4. Any raw e-KYC data
    3. All biometric processing is handled solely by MyDigital ID.
  5. Accuracy and Your Responsibility
    1. By proceeding with verification, you confirm that:
      1. All information you provide is accurate and belongs to you
      2. You are using your own MyKad and MyDigital ID account
      3. Your MyKad is valid and not expired
      4. You will keep your MyDigital ID credentials secure and confidential
    2. Tune Talk is not responsible for any loss, issue or delay caused by inaccurate or incomplete information.
  6. Failed Verification
    1. Your verification may fail if:
      1. Your MyKad is damaged, expired or unreadable
      2. Biometric matching fails (for example, unclear face scan)
      3. Your MyKad details do not match JPN records
      4. Lighting, camera quality or connectivity affects the e-KYC process
    2. If verification fails, you may retry or complete verification at a MyDigital ID physical kiosk.
    3. Certain Tune Talk services may be limited or unavailable until verification is successfully completed.
  7. Mandatory Requirement
    1. Because of regulatory requirements, including those from MCMC:
      1. MyDigital ID verification may be required for continued access to certain Tune Talk services
      2. Verification is compulsory for new SIM registration
      3. Tune Talk may require you to re-verify your identity if suspicious activity or potential fraud is detected on your number
      4. This is to protect both you and the network.
  8. Privacy and Data Protection
    1. Tune Talk complies with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
    2. Your biometric data (such as facial scan) is:
      1. Processed and stored only by MyDigital ID, and
      2. Not collected or stored by Tune Talk.
    3. By completing verification, you consent to MyDigital ID sharing only the necessary verification status and related confirmation data with Tune Talk for the purposes of:
      1. Identity validation
      2. SIM registration
      3. Tune Talk account security
    4. No biometric images or raw MyKad images are shared with Tune Talk.
  9. Service Limitations
    1. Tune Talk is not responsible for:
      1. Technical issues, downtime or errors on the MyDigital ID platform
      2. Kiosk availability or location
      3. Delays caused by MyDigital ID maintenance, system upgrades or outages
      4. Failed verification due to invalid, damaged or unreadable MyKad, or poor e-KYC conditions
    2. Availability of verification is subject to the operational status of MyDigital ID.
  10. Changes to These Terms
    1. Tune Talk may update these Terms from time to time to comply with:
      1. New laws, regulations or regulatory guidelines
      2. Updates from MCMC
      3. Changes to the MyDigital ID platform
      4. Security or operational improvements
    2. Any updates will be published on the Tune Talk App and/or Tune Talk website. Your continued use of MyDigital ID verification with Tune Talk after such updates will constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.
  11. Access to MyDigital ID Official Resources
    1. For more information on MyDigital ID, including registration guides, kiosk locations, FAQs, security practices and account management, you may visit the official MyDigital ID website at: πŸ”— https://www.digital-id.my
    2. All information, processes and support provided on that site are managed solely by the MyDigital ID team and not by Tune Talk.
  12. Privacy & Security
    1. Tune Talk complies with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Your biometric data never reaches Tune Talk. All identity checks are processed by MyDigital ID, not by Tune Talk.
    2. By proceeding with verification, you consent to MyDigital ID sharing the necessary verification status with Tune Talk.
  13. Change to These Terms
    1. Tune Talk may update or revise these Terms from time to time to comply with new laws, regulatory requirements, security standards, or updates introduced by MyDigital ID or MCMC. Any changes will be published on the Tune Talk App and/or the Tune Talk website. Your continued use of MyDigital ID verification or Tune Talk services after such updates will be taken as your acceptance of the revised Terms.
